My favorite movie- The Green Mile
I am thinking about what is my favorite movie. I didn’t used to watch a lot of movies when I was in china. I spent a lot of time on TV shows, even advertisements. When I started learning English I contacted some movies. I like animation movies, such as: The Ice Age and Madagascar. I became a big fan of Tom Hanks after I watched The Terminal and The Green Mile. I really like The Green Mile, It purified my heart. The movie presented combination of the love and religion. I watched the movie twice. The first time I think coffe shouldn’t choose to dead. Because he was a good guy. He was shy and even afraid of dark. When he was send to the prison he said he would lose himself in the dark especially in a new place. He was innocence he didn’t do anything harmful. But he didn’t explain. He just said: boss I am sorry I tried my best, but it didn’t work at all. When he was set foot in the green mile and greeted the coming death, I can’t help crying.
However, I changed my mind when I watched the movie second time. In my opinion, death was his only consolation. He saw a lot of evils in the world. The criminals made him tired. I still remember at the end of the movie, the carsten said I don’t want to ruin the gift of the God. He was trying to help coffe escape from the jail. But coffe refused. I don’t know the feeling when someone living in the world with fear and horror. The heaven was the best choose for coffe.

What you can do to Improve your brain
The brain is a great mystery, isn't it? Scientists say that a normal human can use approximately only 3% of its brain whole capacity. Moreover, It's believed that well-known intelligent people, like Einstein, were capable of using 10% of their brain's capacity! However, whilst most of us can only use the pattern of 3%, a little more, a little less, I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of things that we can do to exercise our brains, and make them better. To accomplish such thing, we need to seek new experiences and breakthrough routines and habits.
Studies of Neuroscience, which is the Science that studies and maps the brain, show that our cerebrum has an enormous capacity to adapt and change its own connections, therefore exercising it will keep it agile and healthy; whereas we are making it work a lot. Knowing that I decided to share ways that I personally think can help us to exercise our intellects, it's totally up to you believe me or not, but I'm convicted that these ways help me a lot maintaining my mind in shape.
* Try using the mouse or even brushing your teeth with your opposite hand, this is a great way to break the habit and also to improve your motor coordination, concentration, even creativity.
* Read a lot. It incites a lot of areas of the brain. Besides getting a lot of new information you'll be increasing your visual and verbal skills.
* Try changing your clothes with eyes closed (I tried, is not so hard).
* Use your watch on your opposite arm.
* Try different types of food to stimulate your taste.
* Talk with a lot of different people.
* Try seeing photos in other angles (upside down, for example).
* Don't use always the same way to get somewhere.
* Walking back-forth inside your house is really interesting. You should give it a try.
Venture into those tips, you'll surely notice some difference in no time!

The Story of Chinese Valentine's Day
Compare with the west valentine’s day, Chinese Valentine’s Day has much more differences. .Chinese people devoted their love on 7th July in lunar calendar. Without chocolate and roses, girls prefer to prey a good marriage in the evening of Chinese Valentine’s Day. The Chinese Valentine’s Day is existed because of a beautiful love story. The emperor in the heaven had 7 daughters. Once a day, they were taking bathes in the lake near a village. The cowherd named Yong noticed the 7 beautiful fairs, but he just preferred one of them. That girl wore green silk dressed. He was hiding in the bushes and stolen her cloths. After tooking the bathes, the other 6 girls wore their own cloths and flied to the heaven except the only girl who didn’t find the dress. She was naked and cried. At the same time, Yong gave the dress back to the girl, of course he looked at the girl’s naked body, the girl was shy, and thinking, at least, he was a handsome guy. Several days later, they got married.
The emperor missed her little daughter very much and there was a role in the heaven that the fairs couldn’t get married with a human being. The emperor was angry and dispatched two deities to take his daughter back.
So that, Yong lost his wife, they loved each other deeply that moved the emperor. He allowed the couple met once a year across the milky on 7th July
The story is ending, but the love isn’t pause.

We are together!
Last week, When we were sitting in the classroom as usual,I heared the fire alarm. At the beginning, I wasn't awared what happened. I just saw the students cleaning up their books and rush running out of the classroom. I thought, oh, the class was over, haha. I would have a lot of time to taking some coffee and waiting for the next listening class. One of my friends told me: Emily, please stopping day-dreaming, somewhere in our school on fire, while everything is going be fine we have to go back to classroom and finish the class.
We went to platform with the crowed people and I saw a very light smog not far away from us. My friend told me may be there on fire. However, I didn't think so. Because it looked like someone was cooking.
Girls always had lot of topics when they got together. We talked a lot, such as the superstars, make up and clothing.
We took a lot of photos that days.
The influence of toys on children
Personally, I believed that the toys we used to play when we were kids extremely influenced our sex orientation in the present. A 5-year-old boy who always played with barbies, kitties, and even played with make up or woman dresses, will certainly develop a different sex-taste from a same aged kid who liked to play soccer, video games, and cars. Moreover, the family attention and support is the biggest responsible for these results; although many families would never accept that their children become gays or lesbian someday, they apparently don't care if they're often doing activities of their opposite sex.
I had a friend named Long, who was always playing with girls. He had much more Barbie dolls than any girl I used to know. Nevertheless, his parents were unaware about the possibility that Long could become a homosexual in the future; unfortunately, he did became one! In my opinion, this only happened because of the influence of girls toys and activities that Long was regularly enjoying in his childhood. It's clear to see now that whether you really care about the future of your children, you ought to support and supervise them even with the toys they're playing with. Arising out of that, problems will seldom happen. In the future, I will always watch my children, even if the subject might be seemed as silly. I don't want anything that was not suppose to happen with my kids to become reality because of my mistakes! I hope you guys do the same.

The Beautiful Chinese Garden
Last week, Luis and I visited one of the Chinese gardens in DownTown. The garden is really nice and it made by a famouse architect . The whole style is landscape garden. There are a lot of bamboos around the garden, a lucid stream , cobbled road ,and several classical ancient calligraphy exhibitions. Everything is perfect ,made me recall the time in China. I can't believe I find a chinese style garden in vancouver. (Thanks for Luis) I really like that place. When we finish visiting the garden, there also offer chinese green tea. But luis didn't like it, he told me tea is no taste. but I love chinese tea. I MISS MY COUNTRY~
The presentation with my partner
Couple weeks ago I did a presentation with my partner her name is carol. The topic is referring to conversation: how to start a conversation with a stranger, how to keep it going; and how to end it. We focused on the people whose ages are from 20 to 40. Most of them are studying and working at Douglas College. Before I start the survey I thought everything will be fine. Actually I found that Canadians are not as friendly as I thought. The result of the survey told us that most of the people have their own way to start a conversation and keep it going. However, they did not want to involve a conversation with a stranger. One question I paid much attention is about how you are going to end the conversation when you were on the phone with your friends. The answers I collected like that, almost 60% people would like to pretend they have to deal with something important to get away from the conversation, in another word; they are going to tell a lie to their friends. These answers really shock me. And also, I interviewed some the question is if someone would like to talk with you in the sky train station, or in the public place are you going to respond it or not. Half people told me they prefer to stay alone and listen to the music or just start at nowhere.
After the survey I collected all the answers and made a presentation. The result was not good as expect. But my partner and I work so hard to figure all the answers out. That was a really good memory for me. I’d like to try it again with a new topic.
